I grew up on a family farm in Minnesota, which is where I learned that good work is mostly just showing up and doing the unglamorous part well.

Early in my career I spent about a decade being told no. I worked for Fortune 100 companies and for small family-owned businesses, and in both I kept running into the same thing: smart people with real businesses, getting marketing that had nothing to do with their actual goals.

I started Kōvly in 2015 to do that work differently. What I didn't expect was how much I'd care about keeping it small. We've been bigger. More people, more overhead, more growth charts. But for me, the most important part is the heart, the connection, the relationship we can build when we are truly boutique.

Today, every part of how we work is deliberate. A limited roster, one integrated team, and my hands on every engagement. It's the only way I know to do work I'm truly proud of.

I hold an MBA and a graduate certificate from Harvard Business School, which I mention mostly because it explains the psychology-backed part. But really I'm just someone who's been doing this for over ten years and still loves it.
